The Challenge: Build a preliminary ecommerce site for unique, hand-crafted jewelry that reflects the weaving tradition employed by the designer.
The Solution: We used photos of Nantucket that showcased the nautical history and traditions that provide the basis for the basket weaving skills used to create the products.
As a young child on Nantucket Island, Bridget Wiotrowski learned traditional basket weaving skills from her mother. The skills were derived from the island’s whaling history, when sailors would weave tight, durable baskets for use on light ships. To evoke that history, we built a simple, clean website utilizing a crisp white and dark blue, and photographs carefully curated to show Nantucket’s harbors, weathered houses, and flora.
