The Challenge: Build a dynamic website for an online travel magazine with multiple departments.
The Solution: We built the site using a WordPress theme which permitted us to code departments by color, creating a simple visual guide for readers.
FamiliesGO! is an online travel magazine catering to families with small children. The publication was actively updated and maintained, with hundreds of articles, hotel reviews, resources, and recurring online travel chats, where readers shared their tips on traveling with children.
With such a robust set of features, it was important that visitors to the website be able to easily pull up the information they need. We designed the site so that articles could be easily identifed by colored category tags (“Places to Go,” “Things to Know,” “Things to Take,” and “Travel Mom Chat”). A large drop-down menu under “Places to Stay” permitted visitors to select hotels and guest houses by region. And a sidebar widget permitted travelers to pull up the weather conditions in their destination.
